Perhaps you know the situation: after a
wonderful vacation, unforgettable family experiences, etc., you sit
down happily at the computer to work on your pictures. The display
on the digital camera showed really quite acceptable pictures. The
computer screen, however, revealed to your amazement quite different
results: important parts of the pictures were underexposed, images
were pale, colors dull, ... in any case not the impressions which
you have retained in your memory.
Here
is where the post-vacation digital picture processing with B+W
software filters begins. This workshop is intended to give you
some ideas as to how digital images can be pepped up simply, without
the extensive special knowledge (tonal value correction, color
channels, characteristic curves, color balance, etc.) required by
modern image processing programs.
