More often, C-Mount cameras with
larger high-resolution sensors are used for hith-end inspection and
measurement tasks. The lenses with an image circle diameter of 22 mm
cover for example the whole area of 15x15 mm sensosrs, thus enabling
the effective use of the full sensor capacity.
These lenses are also the best
choice for smaller sensors when the main image criteria are uniform
illumination and very low distortion.
