The graph below demonstrates the superior properties of the broadband coating compared to standard single- and multilayer coating. With an increase in reflection, more stray light is emitted onto the sonsor resulting in a loss of image quality. Also, the intensity of iris reflections depends mainly on the lens coating. The difference are most significant in the near infrared ( NIR ) where broadband coated lenses cause the smallest amount of stray light.
